Industry sources told CRN that the integrator will use Cisco’s Unified Contact Centre Enterprise (UCCE) solution. When CRN spoke to Andrew Fisher, Touchbase Australia’s business leader about the deal, he was tight lipped but didn’t deny the rumour.
This wouldn’t be the first time Telstra and Touchbase have worked together. In late June 2006, CRN reported that Touchbase had sold its Avaya customer base and staff to Telstra. The sale, happened off the back of a contract dispute and termination of a business relationship between Touchbase and Avaya.
Although Fisher couldn’t talk about any possible agreements between the integrator and Kaz, he told CRN exclusively that Touchbase was opening a new office in Melbourne.
“It’s not the first time Touchbase has entered the Melbourne marketplace. We had an office out here, but we sold it to Telstra with our Avaya customer and staff base,” he said.
The integrator is looking to hire around 18 new staff members for the office to join the two new staff members that were hired for the Melbourne branch this week.
“We now have around 65/67 staff members and offices in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Some of our previous clients, in Melbourne, from the Avaya days have already started making some inquiries. Things are looking up for us in 2008,” said Fisher.
Fisher has hinted to CRN that the integrator is looking to sign around four new clients, including three top twenty Australian companies and one top 50 client.
“When I can talk about the companies I will come straight to CRN. I am very bullish about the business and excited about how well things are going,” he said.
