Announcing the acquisition Larry Bloch, CEO Online Growth Solutions, said that as an accredited auDA Registrar, MD strengthens its strategic position in the Australian domain name market - establishing Online Growth Solutions as the number 1 player in .AU ahead of Melbourne IT.
"Current plans are for 'business as usual'," said Bloch.
"All staff will be continuing as normal, but we will be bringing MD's off-shore outsourced IT and Customer Support services back to Australia.
"These services will be provided by our in-house award winning, Sydney-based IT and Customer Service operation. Once complete, customers will only ever deal with Australian based operators."
The addition of MD's domain name portfolio means Online Growth Solutions has over 23 percent of .AU names under management.
"Despite the Global Financial Crisis, Online Growth Solutions grew EBITDA by over 40 percent for the '09 financial year," said Bloch.
"Some of our competitors are finding the going tough as the market seeks providers that offer true value. We're seeing a strong drift of customers from competitors who overcharge and under deliver, further validating our business model."
Bloch revealed that OGS is continuing to look for further acquisitions.
"If you have thousands of domain and hosting customers, I would like to hear from you," says Bloch.
