NZ chatbot vendor Ambit lands in Sydney

New Zealand-headquartered chatbot vendor Ambit has landed in Australia, opening a Sydney office and exporting chief executive Josh Comrie to oversee the expansion.

Ambit offers a conversational intelligence platform and targets industries that handle significant volumes of customer inquiries.

The company lists Fusion5 and Jade as its current Australian channel partners, both of which are also headquartered in New Zealand, and is looking to add more partners and also establish a direct sales force.

“Australia represents a market of some scale greater than New Zealand, before tackling the USA and UK. We’re excited about introducing our unique value to customers in support of their innovation in customer engagement,” Comrie said.

“We look forward to partnering with Australian companies to ensure that they are well placed to be resilient to future change and to delivering a customer experience as positive as possible, leading to greater loyalty and increased future sales.”

The expansion came after raising NZD$1.75 million ($1.67 million) of capital in 2018.

Comrie founded Ambit in 2017, after running New Zealand IT recruiter Potentia IT Recruitment from 2004 to 2015.
