“When I finished up in December Nvidiawere planning to pull the channel manager role back to Taipei and run the Australian/New Zealand region out of the head office in Taipei,” said Hartin.
As soon as Hartin finished up with Nvidia, Antony Sheen, managing director at Altech gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
“At the moment Altech’s doing a lot of interesting things. We are looking at opening an office in New Zealand and I am currently recruiting sales people and a branch manager. Altech’s also planning to open other offices around Australia, to give us nation-wide coverage. We are also looking at a number of options overseas,” said Hartin.
The NZ office will open in Easter, minus or plus a few weeks, said Hartin.
He claimed that Altech has hired ‘new blood’ for the head office in Sydney.
“Michael Chong, an ex-TodayTech employee joined Altech just before Christmas. He brings a lot of new blood into the office,” he said.
Hartin said he has been given free reign by Sheen to do what he needs to in New Zealand and elsewhere.
