NTT DATA expands Google Cloud alliance to scale enterprise AI agents

NTT DATA has expanded its alliance with Google Cloud to help enterprises move agentic AI from pilots into production, built around Google’s Gemini Enterprise platform.

Under the expanded collaboration, NTT DATA will set up a dedicated global Gemini Enterprise practice and aims to certify 5,000 experts on the platform.

The two companies also plan a joint roadmap to co-develop up to 500 AI agents across horizontal and industry-specific use cases - spanning banking, insurance, manufacturing and retail, plus functions such as cloud migration, software development, procurement and finance - building a catalogue of reusable, pre-built agents intended to speed deployment.

The companies described the model as a “global factory” that combines reusable assets, engineering talent and co-innovation pipelines.

Integrated teams of NTT DATA specialists and Google Cloud engineers, including forward-deployed engineers embedded with clients, will work to move use cases from prototype to production.

NTT DATA said that approach builds in support for sovereign AI deployments that meet data-residency and compliance requirements, drawing on its data centre and managed-services footprint.

Matt Renner, president and chief revenue officer at Google Cloud, said the company is seeing "massive demand" for AI agents that can fundamentally transform core business workflows.
