The New South Wales Department of Customer Service has launched an expression of interest (EOI) to establish a whole-of-government purchasing arrangement for cyber security software and services.
It aims to create a multi-tier commercial framework between the department and providers of cyber security software, along with their channel partners and resellers.
The procurement process will be conducted in two stages, with the current expression of interest forming a major component of the first phase.
Twelve categories of cyber security software have been identified, spanning areas such as application security, cloud security, data security, and identity and access management.
The proposed arrangement will be structured into two modules.
Module one covers base cyber security software products, while the second encompasses both software products and extended professional services.
Professional services are included in the scope, and comprise extended support, implementation, operational support, and business change management.
DCS specified that suppliers offering only professional services without associated cyber security software products would not be considered under this arrangement.
Market feedback received through this consultation will help finalise the commercial framework and determine the scope of products and services to be included in the final arrangement.
The information gathered may also be used to create a shortlist of suppliers for the second stage of the procurement process.
The arrangement aims to strengthen cyber security capabilities across New South Wales government agencies through standardised procurement of essential software tools and related services.
Suppliers can participate by offering solutions in some or all of the specified cyber security software categories, with the option to include associated professional services.
Closing date for submissions is April 2, with an estimated decision date of August 29 this year.
