Martin Hatcher, Nortel’s SMB sales leader for A/NZ told CRN the BCM450 extends from small-to-medium businesses, or typically less than 100 users, to medium-to-large business with 200 or more staff.
"The BCM 450 is available under the 'My Business BCM Program' that we announced last week for channel partners,” he said.
“Reseller margins on the product will be whatever they are making now. They won't have to shed any margins to sell the product.”
According to Hatcher, resellers will be able to extend their user base, from previous BCM products of 100 users to around 300.
“It will help them move their business into the mid-market range,” said Hatcher.
“Our resellers have known this has been coming for a while and are excited because they can grow their end user base.”
Hatcher said the unified communications features of the BCM450 includes; unified messaging; message forwarding; meet-me conferencing; computer technology integration; intelligent contact centre functionality; and SIP compliance.
He claimed the BCM450 also helps businesses save on energy costs. A BCM450 solution can save up to 40 percent in energy costs compared to a similar offering from the competition.
