Nokia's Lumia 2520 hits Australian shores this month

Nokia has announced release plans for the Lumia 2520 tablet with the device available through Telstra on a 24 month plan or outright for $840.

The tablet will become available from Nokia and Telstra's online store from 6 May and is set to hit Telstra retailers Australia-wide on the 13th.

The 2520 is Nokia's first Lumia-branded tablet and is available on a $35 per-month plan (plus a $25 per-month repayment) for consumers and businesses.

It features a 10.1in screen capable of projecting 1920x1080 resolutions and boasts a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space.

The device runs on Windows 8.1 RT and Microsoft comes equipped with the latest version of Microsoft Office.

The tablet has a 650 nit screen and a battery capable of playing video continuously for 11 hours.

The Lumia 2520 was announced last October and originally envisioned as a competitor to Microsoft's Surface tablet range – Nokia has since been acquired by Microsoft.
