Remember the Nokia 808 Pureview with its 41MP snapper? What a brilliant camera – shame about the outdated Symbian OS though. We’ve hoped that snapper would make it into a Windows 8 phone ever since. Now it looks like Nokia is about to deliver with a 41MP Lumia 920 style handset called EOS.
WMPowerUser's source managed to sneak a look at a Nokia document that gives away the EOS. It looks a lot like the Lumia 920, but with tapered edges, a lighter shell, and – mercifully – a smaller camera unit than the 808 PureView. It sports a lens cover that auto opens when the new Nokia Pro Camera app is fired-up.
It all sounds very exciting and could be just the thing to give Nokia a much-needed boost in popularity. When we reviewed the Lumia 920 we thought that it, like Windows Phone 8, was so close to being great but suffered from a few niggles. Here’s hoping the EOS will clear a path to greatness.
