Flash storage vendor Nimble Storage revealed its top APAC partners at a ceremony in Victoria last week.

The awards, which were held at Peppers Resort, were based on customer growth, revenue growth, certification, marketing success, overall engagement and support.

Partner of the year went to Sydney-based Virtual Consulting Professionals. Director Richard Youssef said he was honoured to receive the award.

“We have a great relationship with Nimble Storage, they have a great product, are constantly innovating and work with partners at a level not seen in the industry for some time,” said Youssef.

The rising star award went to Brisbane-based IT and cloud services provider R&G Technologies. Managing director Gordon Tan said: “Our team has been very impressed with the technology and the value proposition speaks for itself when presented to clients. We view Nimble as a key strategic partner and look forward to furthering the relationship over the next 12 months.”

The award for most valuable player for sales went to Matt McDonald, business development manager at Cloud Solutions Group. Most valuable player for technical support went to Binal Hendawitharana, principal consultant at data centre specialist Onel Consulting.

Nimble Storage director of channel sales Theo Hourmouzis said: “These awards celebrate the mutual success that Nimble Storage has with our business partners in Australia and New Zealand.

“All of our partners in the region can feel deeply proud of the success they have achieved in driving customer success over the past year, and we’re excited to build upon these robust relationships even more in the year ahead in helping to further improve our overall solution and go to market offering.”

Nimble began selling via channel 12 months ago, adding Nextgen Distribution as its sole distributor. It now boasts 120 partners in Australia.

Former VMware director Bede Hackney was also brought on board last month to head the local business as Nimble’s first Australian managing director.
