NextDC is introducing an opportunity registration programme that rewards premier partners who are proactively seeking out and finding new data centre opportunities.
"Opportunity registration programmes are fairly common with software and hardware vendors, but it's not something I have seen or heard of in the data centre space," said Steve Martin, general manager, channels.
The program is part of a new partner programme comprising three tiers: Premier partners (top tier), service provider partners and solutions partners.
"What we're doing is really stepping up to that next level of partnering," Martin said.
NextDC now has "well over" 150 service providers since launching four years ago - a number Martin says will grow significantly over the next year.
"It's getting a huge amount of interest from the IT channel. Other data centre providers traditionally haven’t treated the channel differently from the way they would treat a customer."
The new program also includes an online portal called Cloud Centre for partners to advertise and promote the various services they are offering with NextDC.
Martin said the system can capture interested customers and prospects and NextDC can send the contact details to partners as qualified leads.
The new partner program follows several other key milestones this year for NextDC, including the launch of its Perth data centre and being listed on the government's Data Centre Facilities Supplies Panel.
