Managed services provider Networx Australia will provide vendor Blue Coat’s WAN optimisation and Web security offering to its customer base.
Networx Australia supplies WAN and Internet gateway links to its customers, and has selected Blue Coat’s SG appliances with MACH5 application acceleration technology.
Mikael Haidar, chief information officer at Networx Australia, said the firm is using Blue Coat for WAN optimisation and end-point enforcement of the networks.
“One of our customers moved from one location to two and noticed its network was running slow. We looked at the options and found Blue Coat could accelerate the network performance.”
Haidar said the main problem for the customer was users had to wait up to 20 mins to log-in to its network. However since deploying the Blue Coat offering, log-in times have been reduced to an average of 20 seconds.
“This is not just WAN optimisation as we can also run content filing. This gives us more flexibility.”
Haidar added the Blue Coat offering is targeted at multi-site customers who can reduce costs while improving network performance.
