UNIVERGE SV8500, is an IP communications server which uses 23 percent less power than previous IP servers.
According to Steve Woff, UC business manager, NEC Australia it made a major push into the UC market last year and has had great success.
"Today's announcement signals the next phase of our product roadmap by delivering a communications suite that can handle the most scalable of environments," he said.

UNIVERGE SV8500 IP Communications Server provides up to 192,000 IP extensions and is aimed at local and federal Government, the telecommunications sector and businesses with more than 500 employees.
"Unified Communications is on the CIO radar and is something that they are looking at as a way of reducing operational and collaboration costs and make their workforce more efficient," said Woff.
"We can now offer the level of scalability needed for large enterprises to streamline their communications and embrace UC."
