NEC Australia expands Exabeam partnership for behaviour-based security

NEC Australia has expanded its partnership with Exabeam, deepening its use of behaviour-based analytics in its managed security services to help Australian organisations detect threats faster and reduce insider risk as their environments become more automated.

Under the expanded arrangement, NEC Australia will work with Exabeam to deliver behaviour-based security analytics aimed at cutting investigation effort and improving visibility across hybrid and cloud-native environments.

NEC Australia already runs Exabeam technology inside its own security operations, and the two companies framed the move around what they call the 'agentic enterprise' — environments where human users and non-human actors such as service accounts, AI-driven workflows and autonomous systems all operate at machine speed, widening the range of activity security teams need to monitor.

The offering is built on Exabeam’s Behavior Intelligence, which uses user and entity behaviour analytics (UEBA) and the company’s Agent Behavior Analytics (ABA) to establish behavioural baselines across both people and the 'digital workforce' and flag anomalous activity that rule-based tools often miss.

Exabeam said AI-powered security agents also automate parts of the threat detection, investigation and response workflow, enriching data, correlating activity and assembling evidence-backed timelines to reduce investigation time.
