NBN Co is seeking to fill in two new positions to join former Telstra channel boss Keith Masterton and support the network builder’s ongoing expansion into the ICT channel.
The advertised jobs are ICT channel manager and ICT channel program manager, with the common aim to strengthen NBN Co’s ties to vendors, distributors and partners.
“The NBN transition represents a very significant opportunity for the ICT industry to assist in the digital transformation of Australian business,” Masterton told CRN.
“The appointment of these roles will ensure we are well positioned to work with industry to meet the needs of Australian businesses as they move to the NBN access network,”
The ICT channel manager role will be focused on building partnerships with vendors, distributors, and other channel partners while meeting revenue targets for the NBN’s business segment.
The successful applicant will work together with the company’s marketing and community and corporate affairs teams to develop and implement a communications strategy targeted towards potential channel partners.
“We are looking to target a broad range of players within the ICT community from large vendors to independent consultants,” Masterton added.
Meanwhile the ICT channel program manager role will lead and manage channel marketing, partner registration, certification and accreditation.
The new recruit will be involved in the development and implementation of the program marketing and communications strategy, and will also lead the marketing for the launch of NBN’s new business segment products.
“NBN research reveals many small and medium businesses turn to IT advisors during their transition to the NBN access network so we are developing an ICT channel to mobilise the community to better inform businesses about the new network,” Masterton said.
“Moving a business to the NBN network is a process which can take time and will require extra planning and coordination. We want to ensure the ICT industry is equipped with information to support businesses to migrate their complex services.”
NBN had started to advertise managerial roles for its ICT channel program since early this year, and is aiming to officially launch the program in the upcoming months.
“Our focus this year has been on building and launching the ICT channel program including rolling out education, training and enablement and we aim to launch the new channel towards the end of this year,” Masterton said.
In April, the network builder had posted openings for ICT channel engagement manager and industry engagement manager, both of which have since been filled.
