Microsoft partner SaaSplaza has clinched a 22,000-user Microsoft Dynamics AX contract with Flight Centre less than six months after announcing plans for an Australian office.
The deployment, also involving Microsoft and Danish firm Datacon, is being touted by SaaSplaza as the largest implementation in the world of Dynamics AX on Azure.
Brisbane-headquartered Flight Centre boasts company-owned operations in 11 countries and has more than 1,500 stores. The company comprises 30 brands, including Flight Centre, Student Flights, Escape Travel and 99 Bikes.
The rollout will see Flight Centre's worldwide operations connected to a Dynamics AX-based travel application hosted on Azure. SaaSplaza will provide Dynamics AX services while Microsoft is providing licensing.
SaaSplaza founder and APAC director Herb Prooy said the company was introduced to Flight Centre by Microsoft. While Microsoft Gold hosting partner SaaSplaza has its own channel partner network, it will be supplying services directly for this deal.
Australia has seen acquisitions and high-profile customer wins in the Microsoft Dynamics channel in the last 12 months.
Buyouts have included Dialog's acquisition of Lynx IT and Empired's acquisition of Intergen and eSavvy, while projects this year have seen Object Consulting announcing a deal to deploy Dynamics CRM to 450 Mortgage Choice franchises and Myriad IT boasting delivery of a Dynamics CRM based system for Tennis Australia.
