Microsoft gold partner and unified communications specialist Generation-e has acquired Melbourne-based DRM Audio Visual for an undisclosed figure that will "close to double" Generation-e's revenue.
Biagio La Rosa, Generation-e's managing director, told CRN the acquisition was part of his company's strategy to own the meetings and collaboration experience.
"We are building a new entity able to combine legacy AV with the modern world of Microsoft cloud," he said. "If we use unified communications we can escalate phone to video and sharing sessions."
In December 2015, Generation-e acquired Microsoft partner Paradyne in order to create a "powerhouse in unified communications, collaboration and productivity technology".
"Great meeting spaces help achieve great business outcomes, and Generation-e is able to extend the meeting space beyond the walls of the office," La Rosa said.
"Coupled with our recent acquisition of Paradyne, we now have a unique breadth of service offering and a depth of experience that is unmatched in helping people work wherever, and whenever they wish.
"DRM fits in by enabling the meeting room to effectively help people to connect and collaborate."
DRM will continue to function like an independent business and be integrated over time. The addition of DRM's staff to Generation-e will grow the company headcount by 25 percent.
DRM has a national customer base, which will contribute to the expansion of Generation-e's business.
This is Generation-e's third acquisition following Paradyne in 2015 and the managed services arm of Genesis MSP in 2011. The company will continue to explore acquisitions as part of its growth plan.
The DRM Audio Visual acquisition will be effective 1 January 2017.
