Melbourne BI vendor Yellowfin nabs VP out of UltraServe

Business Intelligence vendor Yellowfin has appointed Adam Chicktong as the sales director for Asia-Pacific.

Chicktong (above left) joins Yellowfin from UltraServe where he was most recently the vice president and general manager in Australia. He joined UltraServe in 2014 as the vice president of sales and marketing.

Chicktong started his IT career in 1998 when he joined Alstom as the operations manager. He left the company in 2003 and joined Thomson NETg, in London, leaving in 2008. He then joined ICO, and Avnet when ICO was acquired by the distributor.

UltraServe told CRN that does not plan to fill Chicktong's former role. "The company's senior sales and business development managers now report directly to chief executive Matt Hyland, which allows him to stay close to customers, partners and ongoing developments in the market. This streamlined structure is more efficient and fit-for-purpose as the business grows."

Yellowfin has also promoted former managing director for Asia-Pacific Martyn Reeves (above right) to the newly created role of vice president for strategy and corporate development.

"I’m looking forward to actively pursuing new strategic alliances and investment opportunities to bolster Yellowfin’s growing channel network and underpin fast-paced, sustainable global growth," said Reeves.

Reeves will report directly to the company's CEO Glen Rabie and has the goal to meet a 50 percent year-over-year growth. He will be responsible for mergers and acquisitions, strategic technology partnerships and alliances, and investor relations.

In January 2015, Reeves joined Yellowfin. He has previously worked for several software companies including Progress Software, Netgenesis, SPSS and Entriq.

Prior to joining Yellowfin he was regional director for broadband solutions Asia-Pacific for Netherlands-headquartered services provider Irdeto.

"As Yellowfin’s VP strategy and corporate development, Martyn Reeves will use his more than 30 years’ experience, building successful sales operations and revenue streams for software companies across the globe, to shape Yellowfin’s future," said Rabie.

Melbourne-headquartered Yellowfin is a global BI software vendor that has more than 600 technology, distributor and reseller partnerships worldwide. The company also has an office in Sydney and international presence in Brazil, Japan, Philippines, South Africa, the US and the UK.

The vendor also promoted Peter Baxter to the role of senior vice president global sales, director of global channel Daniel Shaw-Dennis became the senior vice president global marketing, and Craig Panigiris was hired as Asia-Pacific field marketing manager.

Dennis will continue to be responsible for the channel in his new role.
