McAfee has unveiled a new platform called Security Quickstart that offers a combination of management and training for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The initiative provides training, software support and consulting services designed to allow smaller companies to access IT management services.
Security Quickstart is centred on McAfee's enterprise security and management platforms, and focuses on the company's specific offerings such as Endpoint Protection, Total Protection and ePolicy Orchestrator.
The service will include a HealthCheck security assessment tool, as well as access to tutorials, training videos and on-demand support.
McAfee hopes to win over SMEs by offering levels of support and management traditionally available only to larger enterprises. The company also expects to extend the reach and customer base for its resellers and partner organisations.
"Our research shows that organisations that put more effort into preventing attacks can end up spending less than a third as much as those that allow themselves to be at risk," said Darrell Rodenbaugh, McAfee's senior vice president of global midmarket business.
"We understand that SMEs have limited resources and expertise, so we are giving them what they need to get up and running quickly, for very little cost. "
