Security vendor, McAfee has launched Total Protection, a bundle designed to help its Security Alliance partners sell security services to SMBs.
“We have never provided services for small businesses, said Allan Bell, Asia Pacific marketing director, McAfee.
"Through our resellers, SMB customers will now be provided with remote management of a customer’s network. Our enterprise resellers will [also] be able to offer the added service of helping customers with the development of security policies.”
SMB McAfee’s Total Protection program for SMBs is a software-as-a-service package, which gives the reseller the ability to remotely manage their customer’s security.
It provides desktop and server protection from viruses, spyware, hacker attacks, spam and identity thieves. It is delivered as an automatic service, with automated security updates. Reporting and configuration control is delivered through a centralised web portal.
McAfee Total Protection for enterprise is designed for medium to large companies over 250 nodes. The package includes anti-virus for all tiers of the network, anti-spyware, anti-spam, desktop firewall, host intrusion prevention and a complete network access control system — managed by a single console.
For organisations with 100 nodes, the package will be integrated with a security management console to protect systems against viruses, Trojans, spyware, system vulnerability attacks, DDOS attacks, spam and other threats.
McAfee Total Protection suites replaced McAfee Managed VirusScan plus AntiSpyware.
