During the show, Goodwin said she would use the $100,000 prize money to open up her own restaurant on the central coast of New South Wales.
For the past seven years Goodwin had been working as director of sales and marketing for Loyal IT Solutions, a Gosford-based IT service provider.
Husband Michael Goodwin is managing director of Loyal IT Solutions and started the business in 2002.
Michael Goodwin told CRN in an interview he was "very excited" about his wife being one of the final two contestants left on the high-rating cooking show.
"It was very hard being separated from her while she was doing the show," he said.
Goodwin also said Loyal IT Solutions had seen steady growth of the business since it started in 2002.
He has been in the IT industry for 17 years and has previously worked for Telstra, Swiss Banking Corporation, Rothschild Australia, MTG Consulting (Midas Technology Group) and Absolute Business Systems.
Goodwin said local businesses, including Gosford City Council and Parkwood Homes, had been "loyal to the company".
"We haven't noticed any of the tough times being experienced by other organisations in the industry," he said.
"We are very much focused on service and box moving is secondary to the business.
"Every company relies on technology to continue to do business, so we make sure we tell our clients to service their IT systems every three to four years. It's better to turn it over before it breaks."
