Manaccom steps into business with Check Point

Software distributor Manaccom has picked up security vendor Check Point's endpoint security products.

The Brisbane-based distie already distributes Check Point's consumer product ZoneAlarm and has a long-established relationship with Check Point. The endpoint security range is Manaccom's first foray into selling business software for the vendor.

The range comprises Check Point Endpoint Security, Check Point Full Disk Encryption, Check Point Media Encryption and Pointsec Mobile.

"The next big growth market in security is endpoint security and Check Point is very well placed to lead it," Scott McKinnel, Check Point's regional director for Australia and New Zealand, said in a release.

"I don't think it's a surprise that securing the edges of an enterprise is where the security focus is shifting to.

"The attention has been on locking down the fixed network until now, but Check Point knows some of the biggest security weaknesses in organisations relate to the proliferation of laptops and smart phones," said McKinnel.

"Taking on Check Point's endpoint security solutions is an excellent fit for Manaccom and builds on the Check Point solutions it already distributes," said Ian Mackay, deputy chairman of Manaccom, in the release.

"Manaccom is seeing the need from its resellers who service the full spectrum of SMB and enterprise organisations. The ability to offer a more complete solution is going to resonate extremely well in the market."
