This includes 100 Western Australian and Queensland based ADSL 2+ exchanges.
Chris Greig, group executive marketing, product development and alliances at Macquarie Telecom, said the telco now provides coverage across major Australian business centres. The expanded network will also have improved diagnostic capabilities and performance, guaranteed by leading service level guarantees.
“Traditional carriers, encumbered by their legacy infrastructure, have been slow to deliver to Western Australia and Queensland,” said Greig. “Business and government customers can manage the performance of the ADSL 2+ network via Macquarie Telecom’s Web 2.0 telecommunications management dashboard, MacquarieView.”
According to Greig, MacquarieView enables customers to manage orders, bills, faults and alerts across all Macquarie Telecom voice, mobile, data network and hosted-managed services from any Internet enabled device.
According to the company, InView - Macquarie Telecom’s real-time network management and reporting dashboard - greatly extends management capabilities. Managers can monitor network traffic volumes, server status, server utilisation, performance graphs and reports, the company claimed.
The new mixed Quality of Service (QoS) network functionality will allow lower-grade broadband connected sites to be linked with QoS enabled key office sites, the telco claimed. They state that their ADSL 2+ network can also terminate fibre, copper and satellite to deliver a range of voice and data services including; ISDN PSTN and VoIP voice services; IP; ATM; Frame Relay; Ethernet; Gigabit Ethernet; IPVPN services; and all types of DSL services.
Macquarie said that existing customers will be the first to enjoy the benefits of the extended network with an immediate transition. They claim that the improved network is an integral part of Macquarie Telecom’s IP data network.
