Laptops are ready to take an evolutionary leap. The mutant MacBook Air set the trend for super-slim mobile computing with its 19mm thin 11.6 and 13.3in models, and now it's changing the game again. Following rumours of a thin MacBook Pro, Digitimes has learned that a 15in MacBook Air model will be released in 2012.
The new MacBook Air will be part of a refreshed line up that sees upgraded 11.6 and 13.3in models alongside the 15in release, all of which are intended to compete against the new ultrabook onslaught from Windows. And with Intel launching its next-generation Ivy Bridge processors in 2012, we predict a power upgrade that threatens the MacBook Pro's raison d'etre.
