The Australian arm of multinational reseller HexCode Technologies has ceased trading and been ordered into liquidation.
The company is a Microsoft, Cisco and Sperry Software partner specialising in desktop, network and server solutions, with its head office in Tokyo and offices in Sydney, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, India and New York, according to its website.
Liquidator Philip Hosking from Hosking Hurst was appointed by the Federal Court of Australia on 23 April.
Hosking said that HexCode's total debt is unknown, but the amount owed specifically to the petitioning creditor was over $20,000 including costs.
The liquidator does not yet possess any company records so could not comment on how many employees HexCode Australia had, but did confirm that the business is no longer operating.
Hosking told CRN: "Although the Australian company is mentioned on the global parent’s website, it appears to be independently owned by the director, Mr Samudra Dutta Gupta."
According to HexCode's website, Gupta is listed as the CEO of the global firm. CRN attempted to contact him for comment through the head office in Japan but had not received any response at time of publication.
"Anything that a person can do sitting in front of a keyboard, we think, we should get a chance to automate," Gupta says on LinkedIn.
Hosking requested any information that came to light about HexCode be forwarded to him to assist in the investigation.
At the time of writing the Sydney office was still listed but calls on the telephone number went unanswered.
