Alan Gunderson, a sales consultant at QLD-based integrator Lanlink died after complications arising from a motorcycle accident several weeks ago.
Ken Louis, GM at Lanlink, said 50-year-old Gunderson was thrown from his 'pride and joy', a 900cc Triumph motorcycle, in a suburban street not far from his workplace.
He was taken to hospital but died afterwards, from complications relating to the accident. Gunderson leaves a son, aged 14. 'He was a character and larger than life. He will be much missed. He had been a bit of a bringer of fresh air,' Louis said.
Gunderson had been with Lanlink for three years. He started in IT & T some 30 years ago as a linesman and later moved into sales, Louis said.
Prior to Lanlink, Gunderson had been with Telstra for some 30 years, he said. 'He had a lot of friends in this industry,' Louis said.
Vaughan Webster, channel manager at Lanlink vendor partner Alcatel, said 'Gundy' was well-liked. 'Most recently, we'll all miss the ribbings that used to fly back and forth about Australia and India cricket matches. And we'll all certainly miss Gundy's enthusiasm for work,' Webster said.
'I personally remember many conversations with Alan, and I was always impressed with his level of enthusiasm and desire to get the job done.'
CRN extends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Alan Gunderson.
