Landesk has revealed its new name following the merger with endpoint management solutions vendor Heat Software.
The combined company will be known as Ivanti.
Landesk was acquired from Thoma Bravo by investment firm Clearlake Capital Group in early January for an undisclosed amount. At the time, Clearlake announced plans to merge the IT management and solutions vendor with Heat Software, a company it already owned, after the deal was closed.
Ivanti will be able to expand its product portfolio by combining Heat Software's cloud-based service management and unified endpoint management software with Landesk's endpoint security solutions to create a new software-as-a-service management platform.
Ivanti now has 1600 employees in 23 countries and services more than 22,000 customers, managing 40 million endpoints.
The new company will be led by Landesk chief executive Steve Daly, while Heat Software boss John Ferron will take the role of executive chairman.
Daly said revealing the new name was a pivotal moment for the company going forward.

Founded in 1985, Landesk was separated from manufacturing and technology company Emerson in 2010 and acquired by Thoma Bravo. Last year, Landesk acquired AppSense, a vendor that provides software that speeds up Windows desktop migrations and virtual desktop projects.
