Kogan reveals first "high-end" smartphone

Kogan has revealed its first “high-end” smartphone priced at $349.

The Agora 6 Plus comes with features included by premium smartphone vendors such as a fingerprint sensor and NFC for mobile payments.

It’s powered by a Helio P10 octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM and runs Android 6.0. It comes with 32 GB storage with the option to expand up to 128 GB with a MicroSD card, a 21 MP rear-facing camera and 8 MP front camera.

The phone sizes up at 154.5 x 76.8 x 7.2mm and is fitted with a 5.5-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It’s made out aluminium, which Kogan compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7.

“Our customers have been crying out for us to include the same features as the high-end smartphones for a reasonable price,” said Kogan product manager Russell Proud.

“The look and feel of the phone is second to none for this price point. We think this will compare very well side-by-side with the lauded Samsung Galaxy S7, but for around one-third of the price.”

Agora 6 Plus is available only on Kogan’s website and begins shipping on 29 June.

The online retailer revealed the budget 4G Agora 6 in March priced at $179. It’s range of smartphones are also available at the relaunched Dick Smith website, which Kogan bought in March to operate as an online-only business.
