Kloud Solutions extends security services

Kloud Solutions has launched a dedicated security service and hired former Microsoft chief security advisor Peter Watson to lead the effort.

Watson has spent two decades working in the security and control field across a range of industries which, in addition to Microsoft, includes IBM and NBN Co.

The business he will be developing for Kloud will be called Kloud Security Services and is geared towards helping clients prepare for and leverage cloud based services around what the company describes as the four pillars of security services:  identity, data, devices and networks.

Watson’s remit will include both the development and implementation of security strategies and ensuring compliance with government and industry standards. A recent example is the new Star Certification, which was developed by standards body BSI, incorporating NCSI, in partnership with the Cloud Security Alliance.

Kloud solutions has been expanding its operations in recent months. In August this year along with and Chamonix it set up the Cloud Technology Centre of Excellence in Melbourne IT, a venture that will create120 jobs almost doubling the staff investment across the two companies.
