Kiandra plans for growth

Services provider Kiandra IT is set to record 25 percent top line growth for FY 13. The company also plans to increase its workforce by 35 percent over the next 12 months.

We have made a successful move into the corporate and enterprise space. We have got good capability, brand and experience, and we’re now presenting a viable option to some of the bigger players,” said Kiandra managing director Cameron Brookes, in an interview with CRN. “It’s for those reasons we are expecting further growth over the next year.”

Brookes said the company is not targeting any particular verticals. Having said that, he said there was significant growth in the financial services sector, and the company has also seen a sharp rise in demand for its security and infrastructure services.

“There’s a lot of media around security breaches, but we find we have to do a lot of education, particularly with SMB, so they realise it’s not just multinationals being targeted,” he said. “It could be anyone, and the threat can come from just about anywhere.”

With the goal of growing staff by 35 percent, Brookes said the challenge is making the company known to the talent pool. “You have to invest in the culture and brand to make it attractive to people,” he said. “Good people tend not to just walk in the front door.”

The company has signed several multi-million dollar deals over the last twelve months, said Brookes. “These include Fernwood Fitness, Tennis Australia and Parks Victoria, and extended the scope of services with existing customers – T2, Coles, Credit Corp, Mercer, the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) and Quest Serviced Apartments,” he said.

During FY13 Kiandra took out a number of high profile accolades including being named Microsoft Australia Partner of the Year for the Windows Azure Platform SI category, winner of the Medium Business of the Year Award at the Victorian Telstra Business Awards,  and ranked 36 on the CRN Fast 50.
