Apple is working on a fix for the keyboard and trackpad of its 13-inch MacBook Pro following complaints made by hundreds of users.
The company said it's aware of "rare circumstances" where the keyboard and trackpad on the 13in model will become unresponsive. It appears the new 15in models are not affected.
In the absence of a software update, Apple's advised users to reset the keyboard and trackpad by putting their PC to sleep by shutting the lid, then reopening it after one minute.
Hundreds of users reported problems just days after purchase. "This is my second day of usage and I have encountered sudden system freeze two times already," wrote forum user kyawlin. "The keyboard and the trackpad stop working, [as well as the] brightness keys and volume control keys. I have used an Apple hardware test but [found] no problem."
Some users reported the following error message after looking at the Console log viewer. "The error is: The USB device Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad (Port 5 of Hub at 0x14000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)," wrote jorbuedo.
Apple hasn't said when it will issue a software update, and hasn't responded to a request for comment. The company yesterday admitted battery problems in the iPhone 5s.
