The iView service provides access to six, high resolution channels streamed straight to the customer’s desktop.
Until now, data consumed by the service counted towards a customer’s monthly data allowance, which severely limited potential take-up of the service.
"Unmetered access to ABC iView is available to all iPrimus broadband customers,” said Andrew Sims, general manager of marketing and products at iPrimus.
“We've noticed an increase in customers viewing rich media, largely driven by video portals such as YouTube and as a result, we'll be looking at some new and innovative content ideas in the New Year to meet customer demand."
ABC iView updates its programs on a regular basis and its news and current affairs programs will be updated daily and weekly, while catch-up TV programs will be available for view up to two weeks after their screening on ABC 1 or 2.
Internode yesterday became the second ISP to provide unmetered access to iView .
iiNet has offered the service since July, a spokesperson for the ISP said.
