Internode doubles downloads for nix

Customers on the majority of Internode's Home and SOHO 1500/256k plans will be automatically migrated to new plans with higher download quotas.

The announcement follows news that the ISP is offering Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) as part of its standard service.

Jim Kellett, Internode’s product manager, said that 98 percent of customers would begin to benefit from a free increase to their monthly download quotas over the monthly roll out period.

“The new plans give nearly all of our 1500k customers a quota boost of five to 20 gigabytes per month with no increase in price,” he said.

“We’re also offering free speed upgrades to encourage customers on slower plans to move to a 1500k plan. At the same time, we have simplified our range of 1500k HOME and SOHO plans to make it easier for new customers to choose the broadband plan that best suits their needs.”

The company has also consolidated its various plans down from 16 to six – three home and three SOHO plans. The ISP claims the reduction will simply the selection process for customers and make it easier to compare and contrast with other broadband providers.
