Interactive Intelligence launches UC software
According to its A/NZ country manager, Brendan Maree, the new 4-0 application is less complex than the old protocol and allows organisations to route voice traffic over their data networks using interoperable devices from many different vendors.

It also has a proxy server, which acts as a traffic cop helping calls take the correct turns to get to the proper destination.

“With its ability to handle an unlimited number and variety of call routing plans, along with interoperability with SIP gateways, phones, and other devices, the Interaction SIP Proxy allows you to assemble a powerful but low-cost VoIP solution,” said Maree.

The software can be loaded onto any Windows-based server and can be managed from any Web browser.

Maree said new features include a transport layer security which encrypts SIP messages to authenticate the endpoints using X.509 certificates.

Routing entries grouped by a source-device address which allows administrators to apply different dial plans to a call, depending on where it originated.

Also, alerts for events, which can be delivered to an email address via an outbound server.

Talking about opportunities for resellers, Maree said: “With increased security features our Channel partners are able to capitalise on this key differentiator within the market currently.

“The ability to offer our SIP Proxy as part of the solution or as a standalone proxy, should there be a desire to do so, is also an added benefit,” he added.

Interactive Intelligence offers three SIP proxy versions; Interaction SIP Proxy, Basic; Interaction SIP Proxy, Business Continuity; and Interaction SIP Proxy, Load Balancer.
