Intel has added Dicker Data to its channel, with the distributor set to sell Intel's range of SSD, server and network products, NUC and compute sticks.

Dicker Data becomes the fourth Australian distributor for the vendor, with Altech - which became an Intel distie in 2011 - distributing the same product line-up.

Altech will stay on as an Intel distributor, with its reseller partners mostly consisting of small-to-medium size resellers. Synnex and Ingram Micro will continue to distribute Intel’s desktop processors.

“Dicker Data has an established network of SMB and mid-market focused resellers and experience in these sectors,” said Intel channel sales director VR Rajkumar. “They are well placed to offer further support to the channel through their solid product knowledge and diverse industry reach.”

Dicker distributes a number of Intel-branded devices from HP, Lenovo, ASUS and Toshiba, but this is the first direct channel partnership with the chip maker.

"We’ve been working closely with Intel for many years in varying capacities so when this opportunity presented itself, we grabbed it with both hands," said chief executive David Dicker.

The deal comes into effect on 10 July.
