Ingram Micro's Sydney warehouse to move

Ingram Micro’s Sydney-based executives and sales team will remain in the distributor’s Rosebery headquarters when it relocates its warehouse to larger premises in Sydney’s west next year.

Ingram planned to relocate from its 27,000 square metre warehouse in Matraville to the ING Industrial Fund's (IIF) newly planned 39,000 square metre facility in Eastern Creek.

Ingram Micro's Sydney warehouse was in the ING's Millennium Court facility in Matraville since it acquired Tech Pacific in 2004. Tech Pacific was formerly located at Matraville since 1998.

Grant Cleary, marketing director at Ingram Micro, said Ingram has "pre-committed 10 years" to the new space but at this stage the "site is still subject to DA approval".

“There’s a process that we need to go through,” Cleary said.

Ingram Micro’s real estate partner ING Industrial Fund said its “close relationship with Ingram Micro … will be extended through the development of this new industrial facility.

ING planned to invest $48.5 million in building the facility with construction expected to commence in March 2011, with completion forecast for November 2011.
