Westcon announced last week that it joins Avnet and Ingram Micro as the local distribution partners for the networking vendor.
“Juniper’s business has grown significantly globally and within Australia. The appointment of an additional distributor should have an insignificant impact on Ingram Micro’s Juniper business,” said Peter Pollari, business manager, Ingram Micro.
“The core strengths of the Solutions Group have shown a high level of market acceptance amongst resellers. As such, Ingram Micro will continue to develop opportunities based upon core competencies.
“The challenge for any vendor is to avoid ‘over-distribution’ and align their channel with the market,” he added.
According to Brian Allsopp, A/NZ enterprise channel director, Juniper Networks, its company works closely with its distributor and channel partners at a global and local level.
Westcon will be working on driving partner recruitment in the mid-market space but as yet does not have a business plan on how it would like to go to market.
