Polycom has added Ingram Micro to its lineup of Australian distributors in an effort to expand its line of cloud-based solutions.
The unified communications vendor specifically mentioned its partnership with Microsoft, which Polycom partners with on solutions for Skype for Business, Office 365, SharePoint and Exchange. Microsoft has distribution relationships with almost all of the major distributors in Australia, including Ingram.
“Polycom has been a leader in the voice and video conferencing market across ANZ. Our go-to-market plan will see us focus on unlocking more opportunities with Polycom’s ecosystem partners – Microsoft being top of the list," Polycom director of distribution Mark Braxton said.
"Ingram Micro has the in-depth industry knowledge and experience to help us achieve our goals and keep our leadership title.”
Polycom and Ingram will work together on creating new bundled packages for partners, including cloud provider services such as Microsoft.
“Channel partners will see tremendous value in how Ingram Micro plans to build the Polycom portfolio across ANZ," Ingram chief country executive Felix Wong said.
"Hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) is just one area of focus. It is effectively bundling Polycom products with cloud-based solutions offered via OPEX-friendly terms.”
Ingram is the third distributor for Polycom in Australia, joining Westcon-Comstor and Transition Systems.
