Ingram Micro exec becomes Sophos channel manager

Former Ingram Micro solutions general manager Jon Fox has joined security vendor Sophos as channel director for Australia and New Zealand.

Fox showed off the new position on social media. Sophos has been contacted for comment.

Fox left Ingram Micro Australia last month after six-and-a-half years with the distributor. His most recent role there was general manager of its advanced solutions group business, which he had been in since 2014.

Sophos ended its distribution agreements with Connector Systems in February, which was acquired by Ingram Micro a week prior. The vendor's current Australian distributors are Distribution Central, Bluechip Infotech and Exclusive Networks.

Upon Fox's departure from Ingram Micro, country manager Felix Wong commended the executive for his contribution to the distributor's success.

“[Fox] has assembled a strong vendor line up and rebuilt the enterprise go to market team and leaves the business in a strong position. We thank Jon for all his dedication and hard work and we now wish him all the very best in his future exploits in the industry,” said Wong.
