Security vendor Sophos is ending its distribution agreements with two of its distributors, Hills Limited and Connector Systems.
Last week, Sophos announced that Exclusive Networks would replace Hills by offering its full range of products. Distribution Central will also sell the full Sophos catalogue, while Bluechip Infotech will take Sophos’s XC, cloud and synchronised security offerings to market.
Sophos general manager for Australia and New Zealand Ashley Wearne said having three distributors was the correct number for the company to support growth.
“As part of the planning and review process, post the Cyberoam acquisition, Exclusive Networks has succeeded Hills to give us a better balance across our portfolio and the market,” said Wearne.
“The addition of Bluechip Infotech to the Sophos network offers additional choice to the small business partner channel community, with the option of procuring value-added distribution services from Bluechip Infotech,” said Wearne.
As for Connector Systems, the trans-Tasman company is a distributor for Sophos-owned network security appliance vendor Cyberoam. As of 31 March, Bluechip Infotech will be the sole Australian distributor for Cyberoam.
Bluechip Infotech had acquired 300 Cyberoam partners in a deal with MPA Systems in July.
Connector Systems was acquired by Ingram Micro last week.
