Ingram gets exclusive Australian rights for AppSense

Ingram Micro has secured the exclusive Australian distribution rights for user environment management software from AppSense.

The Californian vendor provides "profile management, policy management, logon optimisation, desktop virtualisation, privilege management, application access control, Windows 7 migration and zero-day threat protection", according to Ingram Micro.

AppSense recently featured in CRN USA's "Virtualisation 50" honour roll, and its products integrate with Microsoft, Cisco, VMware and Citrix technologies.

"Ingram Micro already distributes Microsoft and VMware, so being able to add AppSense’s great range of products is ideal for our resellers," said Ingram Micro Advance Solution Group general manager Lee Welch. "As far as our resellers are concerned we are now literally a virtualisation one-stop shop."

AppSense's Asia-Pacific area vice president Michael Bosnar said the distie deal would support the vendor's strong growth in the Australian channel.

"We were looking for a distribution partner with the ability to rapidly grow and manage our channel business. At the same time we needed to make sure that channel growth was supported with the right mix of market and technical skills to properly understand our solutions," said Bosnar.
