Troy Vanderplas, Infotrust's chief operating officer, has departed the business to focus on NextCamp, an outdoor stays booking platform he founded around 18 months ago.

Vanderplas first joined Infotrust in 2021 as business services manager.

In 2022, he took over as chief operating officer; in 2025, Spirit Technologies and Infotrust aligned under the single national brand of Infotrust.

"Over my time I was lucky enough to have the opportunity in building out delivery and the professional services practices, standing up new vendors in the Australian market, and for a long stretch carrying accountability for our own security posture rather than just everyone else’s," he said in a post on LinkedIn.

"What I will miss is the camaraderie, the professionalism and the willingness of the team to rally together to achieve or overcome whatever opportunity or challenge was laid in front of us."

In May, Infotrust appointed Paul Timmins as its new chief executive officer, around two months after the company acquired 100% of Canberra‑based specialist cyber security firm Catalyst Cyber Pty Ltd in a performance‑linked transaction valued at approximately $5 million.
