Infosys has expanded its existing collaboration with Telstra to take over as strategic partner for Telstra International, the global arm of the company.
This partnership will see Infosys deploy an AI-first approach to modernise and streamline essential systems for Telstra International, intending to enhance connectivity, drive business growth and accelerate the adoption of AI.
“Our expanded collaboration with Infosys is pivotal to delivering greater value for our customers and shareholders as we evolve into a software-centric, AI-first connectivity company,” said Chris Ellis, head of IT, software engineering and IT, product and technology at Telstra.
“It strengthens our focus on world-class product engineering and software excellence—modernising and accelerating how we deliver, scale, and evolve digital experiences.”
Earlier this year, Telstra and Accenture announced a proposed global artificial intelligence joint venture, aimed at accelerating Telstra's AI roadmap, improving customer experience, and boosting operational efficiency.
Last year, Telstra announced it will deploy 21,000 Copilot generative artificial intelligence licenses in Australia, while Microsoft in turn would buy capacity on the telco incumbent's Intercity Fibre Network to allow the latter to extend its AI infrastructure in the country.
