IBM and Novell have been shortlisted for Victorian Government's "Project Rosetta" unified directories initiative.
Project Rosetta is an ICT initiative to connect and integrate directories across the Victorian Government.
The Victorian Government claims this directory infrastructure will produce significant gains in security, efficiency and effectiveness of current directory infrastructure across departments and agencies, and will be a platform for other eGovernment initiatives over the next three to five years.
The project will also reduce the burden created by steady growth in the number of directories and the data they hold, across government over the past few years.
