Hewlett-Packard Australia has collaborated with the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) to promote environmental computing.
Through the collaboration with WWF, HP is focused on addressing the convergence of technology and conservation to reduce environmental impact.
Craig Hardman, market development manager, Commercial Desktops at HP Australia said there is a strong business case for organisations in implementing energy-efficient computing.
"As part of the partnership with WWF, HP will donate $US10 for every sale of their new energy-efficient HP dx2810 Special Edition PC to the WWF's Coral Triangle Program," said Hardman.
The HP dx2810 Special Edition PC is an energy-efficient PC aimed at small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The funds will be channeled to further the WWF's climate adaptation and resilience initiatives, more specifically the Climate Witness project in the Coral Triangle region."
This partnership builds on HP's existing global collaboration with the WWF to improve conservation efforts around the world.
Since November 2006, WWF and HP have worked together on several pioneering initiatives to address the causes and consequences of climate change, Hardman said.
