HP unveils new TouchSmart all-in-ones

HP has unveiled three new TouchSmart all-in-one PCs, and a fully interactive 42in high-definition digital signage touch display.

The vendor claimed that the new range offers a number of touch applications, high quality screens and enhanced usability features.

"Since the launch of the first TouchSmart PC nearly three years ago, we have worked closely with a growing number of software companies and independent vendors to develop built-for-touch applications that give consumers and businesses rich interactive multimedia experiences," said James Mouton, a senior vice president in HP's Personal Systems Group.

"These collaborations have helped to make HP touch computing the most advanced touch experience in the market today."

The TouchSmart 300, 900 and 9100 PCs have 20in or 23in displays and include HP's multi-touch screen technology. The firm said that, combined with a wireless keyboard and mouse, the ability to control the screen with touches and gestures creates a rich, easy-to-use and engaging experience.

Touch applications include quick access to Twitter, and the units include swivel stands and a webcam. HP added that all models meet Energy Star requirements.

Finally, HP's LD4200tm is a 42in screen designed to fit in with "trendy" environments including kiosks, retail, point of sale, shopping malls, travel terminals, hotel lobbies, recreational venues, universities, stock exchanges and hospitals, the firm said.

Pricing for the desktops range from $899 to US$1,299 (A$1,428) and the LD4200tm monitor starts at US$2,799 (A$3,078).
