HP South Pacific managing director Robert Mesaros to head HP's 3D printing in APJ

Robert Mesaros, managing director of HP South Pacific, will take on a new role as head of 3D printing for Asia-Pacific and Japan effective 1 May.

Director of printing systems Paul Gracey will step up into the interim managing director role as the vendor looks for a replacement.

“After 12 incredible years, the timing is right for me to start another chapter in my HP career,” Mesaros wrote on LinkedIn.

“I can think of no better opportunity than helping to drive the success of the 3D printing business in this region, and I’m excited to share that I will be taking on [my] new role.”

Speaking on his new role, Mesaros said HP has made “significant headway” since expanding 3D printing into its APJ business last year, citing HP’s first 3D printing customer in Australia, iOrthotics.

“I’m excited about the opportunities for 3D printing that lie ahead, and as I move to my new role I’m supremely confident that HP South Pacific will sustain its market leadership and continue to thrive,” he said.

Mesaros became managing director for ANZ in November 2015, after being serving as vice president and general manager since 2012.

Prior to that, he worked in various roles at HP’s Asia-Pacific and Japan and Hong Kong and Macau businesses in addition to the ANZ region.

“As much as I am looking forward to this next challenge, the decision to move on from my role leading HP South Pacific was far from easy. The last six years at HP have been my most memorable,” Mesaros said.

“I would like to thank each and every one of my team in Australia and New Zealand, and our incredible channel and alliance partners, for their hard work, commitment and support.”
