Hitachi Vantara, the digital data systems subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, has appointed Adrian Johnson as its new managing director for Australia and New Zealand.
Johnson joins from software vendor Liferay, and replaces Nathan McGregor, who left for an APAC role with Hitachi Vantara in April, i.e. vice president for data analytics and IoT.
Johnson has been tasked with managing the vendor’s ANZ operations, with a focus on nurturing its partner ecosystem.
In a press release issued today, Hitachi Vantara APAC senior vice president Daniel Chong said, “Adrian joins Hitachi Vantara ANZ as we continue to strengthen and foster our channel network and partner ecosystem in support of the digital-led transformation of organisations across the region.”
“Adrian will drive local co-creation opportunities and innovative data-driven strategies that aim to deliver business value and accelerate digital transformation for our customers and partners.”
Johnson was most recently the ANZ general manager at Liferay, a role he held from March 2016 to August 2019. Prior to that, he led the ANZ business of data loss detection vendor Code42 Software. He also had stints at Dell Technologies, Fuji Xerox, CA Technologies and Sun Microsystems, following a five-year run as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy.
“Cloud adoption is advancing into true multicloud strategies supported by hyperconverged infrastructures and data analytics,” Johnson said in the press release.
“This kind of progress is exciting for people who do the kind of work we do at Hitachi Vantara. I am excited to work with the ANZ team to offer Hitachi Vantara expertise and our growing portfolio of technology and services to build the capabilities of our partners and customers in support of this progress.”
