Hitachi Data Systems has hired Todd Whaley as its new services director for Australia and New Zealand, as the company embarks on expanding its professional, technical and managed services teams.
In his new role, Whaley will be responsible for engaging with enterprise clients and leading the local service delivery teams to support client strategies for data centre and IoT services.
Whaley will relocate to Sydney from London, where he was director professional service for Pulsant, a hybrid cloud services provider, which he joined in 2015.
HDS vice president and general manager Nathan McGregor said the addition of Whaley would provide a significant value proposition to customers as the vendor expanded its services division.
"He brings extensive industry experience, people skills and leadership qualities to the role to further drive the innovation of our service offerings as a critical pillar of our customers’ digital transformation journey. He will also deepen our commitment to customer centricity and excellence,” McGregor said.
Whaley called the ANZ region one of the most mature cloud markets in the world, adding: "I’m pleased to join Hitachi Data Systems, who have embraced the shift to consumption-based IT models early on in ANZ, and I feel excited about the opportunities that stem from being part of Hitachi, an industry leader with deep and long-standing expertise in data, operational technology (OT), IT and IoT.
"We see a strong upside as enterprises entrust service delivery to the right business partner in this new era of digital transformation.”
HDS has been on a hiring spree this year, adding APAC channel lead Michael Zutenis, northern region sales director Paul Shaw, government sales director Tony Whigham and conducting a reshuffle to the channel team in February.
