Hills trials 24-hour lockers to deliver ICT equipment

Australian technology provider Hills has announced the trial of lockers to allow customers to pick up IT equipment at any time of the day.

"Our customers have been telling us that they would like more options and flexibility in picking up goods," said Hills Queensland group sales manager James Macrae. "[The lockers] are easy to use and secure."

The trial will be conducted at Hills' branch in Hendra, near Brisbane airport in Queensland.

"Making our products available after hours maximises the time our customers can spend in the field and means they can pick up products at a time most convenient to them."

Macrae said that client feedback would be collected during the trial.

When asked what types of products would be delivered in the lockers, a spokesperson told CRN: "Any products that can be purchased from Hills branches."

This would include electronic and video security equipment, healthcare technology, audio-visual gear, smart home solutions, and communications hardware – all of which the iconic Australian brand distributes or sells.

The ASX-listed Hills Limited has undergone a transformation in recent years to become a major ICT player, enjoying a $118.9 million boost in net profit in the last financial year.
